We all carry the awareness that while we are privleged to have experienced the wonders of the underwater world, we also carry the responsibility to protect it. That is why Quino El Guardian was created. Quino was once a fishing vessel and was redesigned into a ship whose sole purpose is for scuba diving and scientific research.
We created Quino because of the time we spent with marine biologist groups on our sister ship, Rocio Del Mar. Our experience with them was so incredibly rewarding that we wanted more. We believe that we can make the world a better place one diver at a time.
Quino gives divers the opportunity to visit magical destinations such as Socorro, the Northern Sea of Cortez / Midriff Islands, the Southern Sea of Cortez (Southern Safaris) and our unique Explore Baja Expeditions traveling the full length of the Baja Peninsula at a lower price without compromising the level of service and delicious food our guests have come to know on Rocio Del Mar.
Quino El Guardian offers fun and exciting scuba diving experiences including our truly unique Citizen Science Expeditions. Quino is available for individuals, one-half and full charters as well as custom private charters. We can design a trip itinerary around the special desires of the charter group.
Come diving with us!
Quino El Guardian is the "brother" ship of Rocio Del Mar. Quino is a 90' boat that was originally a Northeast commercial fishing vessel. Quino was brought to Mexico in 2015 and completely redesigned for research and exploration and recreational dive adventures.
Quino gives divers the opportunity to visit magical destinations throughout Mexico while offering guests an incredible value without compromising the level of service and delicious food our guests have come to know on Rocio Del Mar.
About half of our trips on Quino are Citizen Science Expeditions giving divers the experience of working side-by-side with scientists as they study sharks, mantas, reef ecology, marine biology and more. Activities include animal tagging, identification, DNA sampling, and daily presentations on migration, reproduction, conservation and daily observations.
Quino is available for individual bookings, half and full charters as well as custom private charters.
Join fellow divers and a renown scientists and take your underwater adventure to a whole new level. Learn about the ocean and its inhabitants by working side by side with scientists as they study sharks, giant manta rays, reefs, invertebrates, mammals, and all aspects of our undersea world. Experience Quino El Guardian's Citizen Science Expeditions and dive with a purpose!
In the end we will conserve only what we love; we will love only what we understand; and we will understand only what we are taught.

Once or twice a year, we offer this very unique itinerary where we will be at the right place at the right time to see blue whales, bull sharks, and flying Mobula rays. Go on day and night dives at remote islands that are inaccessible without a long-range liveaboard like ours, encountering the abundant sea life of the Sea of Cortez. We will also explore popular dive sites such as Los Islotes where we’ll encounter friendly sea lions, and El Bajo, which is known for its schools of hammerhead sharks. Included in our itinerary is a day spent diving in Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park, the only living reef on this side of the hemisphere. This is a voyage you don’t want to miss!
