We all carry the concience and awareness that while we are privledged to have experienced the wonders of the underwater world, we also carry the responsibility to protect it. That is why the Quino El Guardian is created. She was once a fishing vessel and was redesigned into a ship whose sole purpose is for scuba diving and scientific research.
We created the Quino because of the time we spent with marine biologist groups on our sister ship, the Rocio Del Mar. Our experience with them was so incredibly impactful that we wanted more. We believe that that we make the world a better place one diver at a time.
The Quino gives divers the opportunity to visit magical destinations such as Socorro, the Sea of Cortez and the Baja Peninsula at a lower price without compromising the level of service and delicious food our guests have come to know on the Rocio Del Mar.
The Quino offers truly unique diving experiences including Citizen Science Expeditions, regular dive charters, as well as the availability for other unique private charters. We can customize a trip itinerary around the special desires of the charter group.

Southern Baja Safari
Once or twice a year, we offer this very unique itinerary where we will be at the right place at the right time to see blue whales, bull sharks, and flying Mobula rays. Go on day and night dives at remote islands that are inaccessible without a long-range liveaboard like ours, encountering the abundant sea life of the Sea of Cortez. We will also explore popular dive sites such as Los Islotes where we’ll encounter friendly sea lions, and El Bajo, which is known for its schools of hammerhead sharks. Included in our itinerary is a day spent diving in Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park, the only living reef on this side of the hemisphere. This is a voyage you don’t want to miss!
The Mexican Galapagos
Season: November - May
Also known as Revillagigedo Archipelago, these are a group of four volcanic islands in the Pacific Ocean 250 miles off Baja Mexico's southern shore known for their unique ecosystem. The islands are home to many endemic plant and animal species, and are sometimes called "Mexico's Galapagos". Socorro island is the most diverse in flora, fauna, and topography.
These islands are a spectacular magnet for the largest ocean pelagic animals in the world. Animals include schooling Hammerhead Sharks, Tiger Sharks, Dolphins, Silky Sharks, Galapagos Sharks, clouds of Jacks and Barracuda, Tuna, Wahoo, Oceanic White Tip Sharks, and Whale Sharks. Yet it is the Manta Rays that are the claim to fame. Humpback whales can often be seen January through April.
CITIZEN SCIENCE EXPEDITIONS
The Quino El Guardian offers a truly unique experience – our Citizen Science Program. These trips include a marine biologist specializing in subjects such as Mantas, Sharks, Humpback Whales, Marine Mammals, Marine Ecology, Geology, Astronomy and more. Included in their research is animal tagging, identification, fish/animal counts, etc. Divers can be involved in as much or as little as they like including hands-on research and presentations.
