Southern Baja Safari 2016
Explore the Sea of Cortez
The Sea of Cortes, also known as the Gulf of California is a strip of water separated from the Pacific Ocean by the Baja Peninsula. This isolation, on land and underwater, provides a unique series of contrasting ecosystems from the vast solitude of the desert to the rich underwater realms and black coral gardens.
Trip prerequisites: must be ready and willing to experience the adventure of a lifetime! We will be at the right place at the right time to see blue whales, bull sharks, and flying Mobula rays. Go on day and night dives at remote islands that are inaccessible without a long-range liveaboard like ours, encountering the abundant sea life that the Sea of Cortez has to offer. We will also explore popular dive sites such as Los Islotes where we’ll encounter friendly sea lions, and El Bajo, which is known for its schools of hammerhead sharks.
